The book accompanies Faces of the Sun (Gezichten van de Zon) opens with an essay by Bertjan ter Braak offering a reading of the artist’s works through myths. In his essay, Braak accentuates that the artist creates his own, new anachronistic universe, the old mythology doesn’t disappear, but reappears in fragmented form. Thus, the traditions become a pars pro toto for a highly personal world translated into colour and imagery. Designed by George & Harrison, the publication provides an introduction to the artist’s practice and features the reproduction photographs of the works in the exhibition.
